Vitech´s Challenge
Desiring to grow rapidly in a wide open marketplace and untapped by the big boys, Vitech needed an acquisition plan to acquire several leading regional Brazilian computer distributors. -
Kennedy´s Solution
Kennedy was retained to arrange acquisition capital options. In early 1995 Kennedy had presented Vitech to several U.S. underwriters, and with an IPO proposal in hand, Kennedy raised $2 million in convertible debt and then advised on a $22 million IPO with US broker HJ Myers, the first Brazilian company to access NASDAQ IPO capital back in 1996. -
Kennedy´s Follow-on
Kennedy was retained by Vitech America, Inc. to advise on their acquisitions of Microtec Sistemas Indústria e Comércio S.A. (July 1997), Tech Stock Ltda. (October 1997), Tech Shop Ltda. and Rectech-Recife Tecnologia Ltda. (November 1997) as well as. To assist in building and raising a $100 million Medium-Term Growth Financing Facility. Kennedy raised $43.1 million in Global Notes., and in 1998 IDC reported Vitech the #1 seller of computers in Brazil.

Alcana Destilaria de Álcool de Nanuque S/A (Alcana)
was a Brazilian privately-held company in the 1990s and 2000s that grew and cultivated sugar cane to be converted into hydrated alcohol and granulated sugar. -
Alcana Challenge
During the 1990s, a majority of the Brazilian ethanol producers came under extreme financial hardship due to 1) low prices from an oversupply of ethanol, and 2) a lack of demand because of a small number of “multi-use” cars in circulation. By 2004 Alcana was practically bankrupt and couldn´t pay its field workers to plant their 2005 crop. -
Kennedy´s Solution
Kennedy Partners was summoned by then partner WorldInvest in early 2005 to raise up to R$2 million for their client Alana. By April Kennedy had structured a loan that raised capital by pre-selling Alcana´s newly planted crop to Kennedy´s investors. With this capital, the Company was able to raise additional cash by further pre-selling of a larger crop and thus return to a profitable business. This allowed WorldInvest to sell Alcana to a foreign private equity fund by the end of 2005.

Resource Holdings, Inc. (RHI)
was a US public-reporting company in early 2010 that had plans to invest or finance small-sized gold mining operations in Brazil. -
RHI´s Challenge
In late 2009 RHI came to Brazil as a “start-up” and it needed capital for its initial operations, including market research and leg-work in uncovering and negotiating Brazilian investment opportunities. -
Kennedy´s Solution
Kennedy Partners was retained by RHI as a financial advisor in November 2009 to raise seed capital and follow-on acquisition capital. Over the next year and a half Kennedy raised $1.5 million in venture capital until Kennedy closed on long-term funding of $11.4 million from Platinum West Ventures, LLC, part of U.S. hedge fund Centurion, in 3 year 15% secured notes plus an equity kicker of 15% of RHI´s voting shares. -

Kennedy was retained by RHI as Director of RHI´s Brazilian Subsidiary, Mineral-Parçeiros em Mineração Ltda., where he oversaw RHI´s investment in gold mining operations with Abdala Mineração Ltda. in Cuiaba, MT.

Intercontinental Telecom Corporation do Brasil Ltda. (ITC)
was created in 1998 with the “spin-off” of the IT department from Microtec Sistemas Indústria e Comércio S.A. ITC immediately became a fully-dedicated provider of wire-less broadband communications services to Microtec clients. -
ITC´s Challenge
In 1999 ITC had plans for an aggressive growth strategy to implement its pioneering wireless broadband services in the many rapidly growing regional cities of Brazil. -
Kennedy´s Solution
Kennedy Partners was retained by ITC as a financial advisor in December 1999 to raise private equity capital to fund this expansion plan. In May of 2000 Kennedy closed on $20 million in a private equity investment (at a $75 million pre-money valuation) from Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ), a North American emerging markets private equity fund. -

Kennedy Partners was retained by ITC as a financial advisor in June 2000 to assist on closing numerous targeted acquisitions, including “Fairness Opinions” on their valuations during 2000 to 2002.

BioPetro Participações, S.A. (BioPetro)
was created in 2005 with the help of research at the University at Sao Carlos. -
BioPetro´s Challenge
From 2006 to 2007 the founders of BioPetro had invested heavily and developed an innovative technology solution that would produce biodiesel at significantly below market costs while using a variety of raw materials. In 2008 they were seeking a significant amount of capital to build a biodiesel plant using their proprietary technology. -
Kennedy´s Solution
Kennedy Partners was retained by BioPetro as a financial advisor in September 2008 to raise capital to construct their planned biodiesel plant. By June 2009 Kennedy had raised R$5 million from Brazilian private equity fund, Endurance Capital Partners (ECP), by merging BioPetro with ECP´s stalled biodiesel start-up, BioClean Energy S.A. (at a US$10 million pre-money valuation). By April 2010 BioPetro was producing biodiesel from their newly constructed plant. -
Kennedy´s Follow-on
Kennedy Partners was retained by BioClean Energy S/A as a financial advisor in early 2011 to seek long-term capital for their rapid expansion plans. In April 2011 Kennedy negotiated a $25 million US Initial Public Offering proposal by Rodman & Renshaw, LLC.

SeqLL Inc
SeqLL was created from the assets of the former publicly traded Helicos BioSciences that went bankrupt in 2012 and bought by a former Helicos employee with funding and CEO leadership coming from his former client using Helicos’ state-of-the-art sequencing platform for DNA and RNA. -
SeqLL´s Challenge
By 2016 SeqLL was in need of significant capital in order to rollout a revamped True Single Molecule Sequencing (tSMS) technology originally developed and commercialized by Helicos. -
Kennedy´s Solution
Kennedy was retained in 2017 to raise “growth” capital which he subsequently did in $575,000 of preferred stock to high net-worth individuals. In the mean-time Kennedy had also gone to his Wall Street contacts at the leading brokerages and realized an IPO would be possible. Upon passing on this opportunity to SeqLL’s Board, Kennedy was hired as their CFO in August 2018 to organize the company for an IPO -
Kennedy´s Follow-on
As SeqLL’s CFO Kennedy immediately signed-up an IPO underwriter and raised $2.6 million in Convertible Preferred Stock to fund the company to the IPO, which was initially planned for the spring of 2020. But with the COVID-19 pandemic halting most IPOs on Wall Street, Kennedy held the company together by raising $450,000 in Bridge Notes until a $15.1 IPO was realized in August 2021.

ICaPath, Inc.
ICaPath was created by Dr. Brock Lindsay while a Medical Director at Allied Health Solutions at West Virginia University to finance his continued research of a novel immunotherapy based on PLGA (polylactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles in order to deliver systemicly immune stimulants in a highly controlled approach of personalized care that would redefine traditional immunotherapy. -
ICaPath´s Challenge
ICaPath’s early pre-clinical data presented a most disruptive immunotherapy delivery platform in the Biotech industry. Their immunotherapy solution would reverse decades of failures on systemic delivery of immunotherapy and improve on the failures of targeted therapies in metastatic solid tumors. However, the Company required working capital to pay its bills and investment capital up to $20 million to prepare its IND for human trials. -
Kennedy´s Solution
Kennedy was hired by ICaPath in January 2024 as their CFO to raise equity or debt venture capital to finance the Company’s novel (oncology) therapeutic’s path through the IND enabling process and to a FDA human trials. During 2024 to May 2025 as CFO, Kennedy raised $575,000 in convertible discount notes for the Company’s working capital needs and led the Company in its efforts to secure an LOI for private equity funds ($4.5 million closed in September 2025) that would budget its work on an FDA approved IND.

Sunom Therapeutics, Inc.
Sunom Therapeutics, Inc. is a Boston-based therapeutics platform company founded in 2024 to develop proprietary nucleoside-based therapeutics primarily for oncology by leveraging its founder, Dr. Atanu Roy, very unique skills and scientific know-how coming from Moderna where he invented the chemistry for their COVID-19 vaccine. -
Sunom´s Challenge
After Dr. Roy’s early data for his novel nucleoside-based therapeutics became promising, Dr. Roy teamed-up with Dan Jones, his former CEO at SeqLL, to lead the growth and early-funding of Sunom. But Sunom needed several millions to fund their continued development in pre-clinical testing to reach an FDA approved IND for human trials. -
Kennedy´s Solution
Kennedy Partners was retained by Sunom in June 2025 to advise and assist the Company on raising several venture capital rounds totaling $5 million, and initially $1 million with high net worth individuals. -
Kennedy´s Follow-on
In January 2026 Kennedy Partners led and closed an early round investment of $300,000 to fund Sunom’s continued development of novel nucleoside therapeutics for cancers. As part of Kennedy’s involvement with the Company’s strategy, he has led efforts to broaden the scope of their novel nucleoside-based therapeutics discovery platform to include antivirals to confront the world’s leading Infectious diseases, specifically Dengue, Zika, West Nile, and Yellow Fever.
